Speaking

Sharon & Connie.jpg

Sharon Clements and Connie Angel Sanders, co-founders of The Way Home, are both gifted communicators on the things that matter most here — the nature of spiritual abuse, Jesus' heart for the wounded and for the church, hope that doesn't minimize the harm, pathways to healing, and what it looks like to love like Jesus in the aftermath.

Available for conferences, breakouts, retreats, and churches. If your community needs a voice that has been this way before, we'd be honored to come.

Pathways Retreats

For the wary, the wounded, and the weary.

Many people who've walked through spiritual abuse wish things could just go back to the way they were — minus the abuse, of course. But healing doesn't work that way. And somewhere, they know it. Pathways doesn't tell participants what to do or how to feel. It opens a door and invites them in. Through self-directed, self-selected encounters in a time intentionally set apart, Pathways creates space for what can't be rushed, prescribed, or performed — and helps communities face the hard things out loud and heal together. Perfect for Women's Retreats, Staff Retreats, Small Groups, or whole communities walking through the aftermath side by side.

Leadership Development

For boards, staff teams, and everyone in a seat of leadership.

Anytime leaders are set up in hierarchy within the church, the conditions for spiritual abuse are already present. Not because leaders are bad — but because power, unchecked, is insidious. It creeps. Leadership Development helps your team understand the dynamics of power and spiritual authority, establish systems that safeguard your community, and learn to respond — when something is exposed on your watch — with truth, with love, and without fear.

Because you're not just managing a situation. You're on the wall for real people whose faith is at stake. We coach gently. We speak truthfully. We follow the example of Jesus — who wept with those who wept, who said "Woe to you," and who rebuilt with compassion. Leaders may be tempted to decide this is smaller than it is, but that doesn't make it smaller. It just spreads underneath. This is why you're in this seat.
